My first day of secondary school

My first day of school was just as similar to any other occasion of which one would meet new people. The feelings of nerves and excitement, both at the same time. Most of us, the newcomers, had gathered in the school foyer that morning. All oblivious on what was next to do. We were adapting to a whole new schedule of the Secondary Education level.

I met some familiar faces at the corner of the foyer, by the staircase. We talked for a while basically on how nervous we were and what classes we were in. We saw many of the senior students making their way up the staircase of which we were next to. Making obvious sense that they would know the way to which students had to report, we followed.

We ended up at the entrance of the school hall, situated on the 3rd floor where the canteen and parade square is located as well. With our bewildered expressions, we were approached by teachers as well as students in ties known as the school student councilors. They assisted us in getting to our classes in rows in the hall. The answered our enquires and they were very polite.

The morning assembly consisted of a rather long and elaborative speech. Done by the principal then, Ms Chamb. Following her speech was a power-point presentation slide done by a teacher in the school. A few announcements and welcoming applauses by the school followed. We were then brought to our classes by the student councilors. We had a short briefing done by our form teacher, Ms Heng, and had a little bit of housekeeping done. Councilors allocated to our class then came in and play games with us. The ice-breaker games were fun. We got to no each other rather quickly through this.
Closer to the end of school, we were brought to the hall to learn a dance. The mass dance as they called it. It was an annual item they had for every orientation camp. The dance was rather difficult but loads of fun at the same time.

I personally was very enthusiastic about it and I enjoyed my first day in school very much.
